The definition of counterfeit parts, according to the DOD is:

An unlawful or unauthorized reproduction, substitution, or alteration that has been knowingly mismarked, misidentified, or otherwise misrepresented to be an authentic, unmodified electronic part from the original manufacturer, or a source with the express written authority of the original manufacturer or current design activity, including an authorized aftermarket manufacturer. Unlawful or unauthorized substitution includes used electronic parts represented as new, or the false identification of grade, serial number, lot number, date code, or performance characteristics.

How does this affect your tool or system production? What is your risk if DOD finds questionable parts in something you supplied? How can you guarantee that the parts you are using are viable?

If you have concerns regarding this definition and how it can effect your bottom line contact All Tech Electronics and let us help you  deal with obsolescence as well as prevention of use with counterfeit parts.

Micross Components has introduced a NEW value added program for OCM product. This program will allow our customers to purchase original manufacturer parts that need value added services (such as lead attach or leaded balls) from Micross and will be marked with a standard Micross part #.  Micross will then deal directly with the original manufacturer to procure the parts and provide the value-added service and FULLY WARRANTY the product.

Micross will take back any failed device they supply.  They will do full failure analysis internally and then externally, discover the source of the failure and provide reports outlining those root causes and corrective action that will need to be implemented.  If the failure is deemed to be a product of the OCM process we will work with that OCM to verify and get them involved in the failure.  Most importantly we will replace that device free of charge regardless if it is our issue or the OCM’s.

This program will avoid the pitfalls of buying a product and  sending it out for service, bring them back in house and then send them out for functional testing after service.  We offer those services plus insulation from die rev changes and obsolescence.  We can quote buying and carrying package product inventory to cover the length of a program all under a warrantied Micross part number.

This product will be stocked and distributed through All Tech Electronics in order to service your production schedules and program needs. Click on the links below to view or download a spec sheet on current DDR or Flash  product or call All Tech for a quote on your custom solution.

Micross to provide access to Everspin MRAM in die form for those customers requiring small form factors

Orlando, Florida (PRWEB)February 23, 2016

Micross Components (“Micross”), a global provider of specialty electronic components with a 35-year history in providing authentic, high-reliability products, announced an agreement with Everspin Technologies to distribute Everspin’s industry-leading MRAM products in die and wafer form.

MRAM has become the memory of choice in applications requiring intensive data logging, protection of data in the event of power loss and the ability to operate reliably at high speed over extreme temperatures. MRAM is a non-volatile memory that uses a magnetic state rather than electric charge to store data.

“For years, Micross has been providing its customers access to the leading edge of technology in die form and our partnership with Everspin and its MRAM technology extends our capability,” notes Tony Hamby, Micross’ Chief Commercial Officer. “Micross’ customers operate in the harshest of environments where data integrity and security are critical to mission success and Everspin’s MRAM technology greatly enhances their system reliability.”

“With this agreement our customers now have the ability to use our MRAM technology in die form with the support of industry leader Micross,” said Scott Sewell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Everspin.“ Many systems require unique packaging due to space constraints or harsh environments and now customers will be able to confidently design in MRAM.”

Everspin’s family of both parallel asynchronous IO and serial SPI interface products in densities ranging from 256Kb up to 16Mb are available now from Micross.

Micross Components has introduced a 32K x 8 EEPROM – 5 Volt, Byte Alterable device as a standard product. This product is in stock and available for back order through All Tech Electronics. Contact your All Tech representative with any questions you may have about this product family. The following is a description of the device and a downloadable spec sheet in PDF format.

Description:

The MYXX28HC256 is a high performance CMOS 32K x 8 E2PROM. It is fabricated with a textured poly floating gate technology, providing a highly reliable 5 Volt only nonvolatile memory. The MYXX28HC256 supports a 128-byte page write operation, effectively providing a 24ms/byte write cycle and enabling the entire memory to be typically rewritten in less than 0.8 seconds. The MYXX28HC256 also features DATA Polling and Toggle Bit Polling, two methods of providing early end of write detection. The MYXX28HC256 also supports the JEDEC standard Software Data Protection feature for protecting against inadvertent writes during power-up and power-down. Endurance for the MYXX28HC256 is specifi ed as a minimum 100,000 write cycles per byte and an inherent data retention of 100 years.
